Transfer stations

For a number of International destinations you will need to change trains. The following city stations are frequent transfer stations. You can find out how to catch your connecting train at the following stations.


Changing trains in the Netherlands

The time the NS International app allows to change trains may not be sufficient if you travel with children or if you carry heavy luggage. We advise you to take this into account and start your journey earlier.


Changing trains in Brussels

At Brussels South/Midi station, you can change trains to Eurostar to Paris, Eurostar to London and TGV.

Eurostar to Paris usually departs from track 5 or 6. Check the signs at the station.

Changing trains in Brussels on Eurostar

Usually Eurocity Direct arrives at station Brussels South/Midi at platform 14 or 15.

Are you located at the front or in the middle of the train? Walk in the opposite direction to the direction the train entered the station, towards the rear of the train. There you will find the escalator, which goes to the central hall of the station. At the bottom of the escalator, turn left and follow the signs for "Eurostar". The Eurostar terminal is located at the end of the central hall, on the left. It will take you 5 minutes to walk from platform 14/15 to the terminal.

At Brussels Zuid/Midi station, Eurostar normally arrives on platform 5 or 6.

Walk in the opposite direction to the direction that Eurostar entered the station. Take the escalator to the arrival/departure hall for international trains. Follow the "Eurostar" signs to the central hall of the station. Turn left there. After a few metres, you will see the entrance to the Eurostar terminal on your left. Make sure you are at the terminal at least 30 minutes before departure for check-in, customs and luggage control.

As of 60 minutes before departure, you have access to the terminal of your train. The Eurostar terminal has a waiting area with an information desk. Behind the counter, you will find check-in gates, customs, baggage control, British identity control, a waiting area with shops and a Lounge for Premier travellers.

Changing trains in Paris

Paris has a good public transport system, which includes 6 large railway stations, each serving a region of France. In addition, there is an extensive bus service and a metro network, which provide excellent connections to the local RER-trains.

Tips

  • Take into account that you need at least one hour to catch your connecting train as you will have to move between stations in Paris.
  • It is useful to know that the buffet on board Eurostar has a limited number of metro tickets which can be purchased (valid in the Paris central metro zone).

Changing trains in Lille

In Lille you will find 2 large train stations: Flanders and Europe. Please take into account that travelling between these two stations to catch a connecting train will take at least 20 minutes.

Changing trains in London

Eurostar arrives at Station St. Pancras. Please keep in mind that travelling between two stations in London to catch a connecting train will take at least an hour. London has a extensive metro network: The Tube. This is the best mode of transportation in the busy city.

Public transportation in Londen

You can check in and out on the bus and metro using your bank card. You can also buy a Visitor Oyster Card.

Gare du Nord Paris

This is the station where the train from the Netherlands arrives. Here you can go by bus, metro or train to other stations in Paris.

Station Brussels South-Midi

Eurostar and Eurocity Direct will take you directly from Amsterdam to Brussels South Station.

Antwerp central station

A beautiful station where your day in Antwerp starts. Or where you can change trains for Ghent or Bruges.
