Check-in
Check-in opens 90 minutes before departure. Your ticket/fare determines how long in advance you must check-in, this is listed at the top of your Eurostar ticket. Ticket check-in closes:
Premier (1st class): 15 minutes before departure.
Plus (1st class) and Standard (2nd class): 30 minutes before departure.
Interrail/Eurail Pass (1st and 2nd class): 45 minutes before departure.
Make sure you are in the terminal well before the ticket control closes.

A return tickets is cheaper than 2 one-way tickets. The price for a return ticket starts from € 88. Your seat reservation is included in the price. The sooner you book, the cheaper your ticket.

Pre-sale period and seat reservations
Tickets for Eurostar can be booked for a travel date up to 335 days ahaed. For the time being, this only applies to boarding stations Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The sooner you book, the lower the price. Your tickets are also your seat reservations: you are therefore guarenteed a seat.
Tickets for the conncection Eurocity Direct-Eurostar, with transfer in Brussels-South/Midi, can be booked 6 months before departure.
Classes in Eurostar
When travelling with Eurostar to and from London, you can choose 3 travel classes: Standard, Standard Premier and Business Premier. Travelling with Eurostar to final destination Brussels? Then you can only travel with Standard or Standard Premier.

Acces to the lounge
Travelers with theEurostar Premier fare and/ or Loyaltycard Railteam partner (including NS Business Card) have access to the NS International Lounge. You have access to the lounge in the Eurostar terminals in Brussels South and London St. Pancras International with Business Premier and/ or Loyaltycard Railteam partner (including NS Business Card).
The lounge is equipped with everything you need: drinks, snacks, comfortable chairs, free WiFi, computers and phone chargers.
On board of Eurostar
Locating your carriage
Your carriage and seat numbers are printed on your ticket. On the platform a train composition poster or digital screen indicates where you can wait to get into the right carriage. Next to the Eurostar doors the carriage numbers are indicated, so you can always easily find your carriage. In the coach, the seat numbers are clearly indicated on the rim above the seats.
Electronic outlets
All seats have both European and British outlets. Seats in Standard and Business Premier class also have USB outlets.
Luggage
Conditions
- Although there is no weight restriction, you must be able to carry your own luggage.
- Your luggage must remain under your supervision at all times and be available for inspection.
- Place your luggage in the overhead racks or under your seat in the same carriage.
- Please label all luggage with your name, seat number, carriage number and final destination.
- Customs regulations apply, and prohibited items may not be carried.
- You are responsible for your own property.

What may I not bring
Customs and Eurostar regulations:
- Weapons, replicas, sporting weapons
- Ammunition or fireworks
- Flammable or explosive substances (such as lighter gas)
- Knives with blades > 75 mm
- Oxygen cylinders without medical necessity
- E-scooters and hoverboards (fire safety)
Alcohol regulations
Per person you may bring:
- For use on the train: max. 4 cans/bottles of beer or 1 bottle of wine
Sealed packaging:
- max. 4 litres of spirits (≥22%)
- or 9 litres of sparkling or fortified wine (≤22%)
- plus 42 litres of beer or 18 litres of still wine
- Eurostar reserves the right to confiscate alcohol at check-in or on board.
- Passengers who are under the influence may be refused entry or told to leave the train.
During major sporting events, it is not permitted to bring alcohol on board, and alcohol will not be sold on board either.
Lost luggage
Bringing bicycles on board Eurostar
Conditions
Permitted bicycles
- Folded folding bicycle
- Disassembled regular bicycle or balance bike for adults
- Children's (balance) bicycle (undismantled), provided it is within the maximum dimensions
- Electric folding bicycles are permitted if they are folded and packed away. The battery may not be charged at stations or on board the train.
The bicycle must be completely enclosed in a cover that fits over the entire bicycle. The longest side must not exceed 85 cm. In addition to the packed bicycle, you may bring 1 piece of regular luggage (suitcase, bag or trolley) and 1 piece of hand luggage.
Bicycles not permitted
- Fully assembled bicycles on direct connections between the Netherlands and London.
- Mopeds, fat bikes, speed pedelecs and vehicles with combustion engines.
Luggage trolleys are not available, so please only bring luggage that you can carry yourself.
Buying a train ticket for your bicycles
Bicycles cannot be taken on the direct Eurostar between Amsterdam/Rotterdam and London. Fully assembled bicycles are currently only available on trains between Brussels and London (and vice versa).
Take the Eurocity Direct train to Brussels and then the Eurostar to London. This way, you won't need to dismantle or pack your bike. Please note that you will require two separate tickets for your bike.

Travellers with impaired mobility
Conditions
- Passengers with impaired mobility pay the standard fare unless they use the wheelchair space, in which case they pay the Wheelchair Fare.
The following applies to accompanying persons:
- Only the companion of a passenger in a wheelchair is eligible for a reduced fare.
- A maximum of one companion is permitted to travel at this fare.
- The companion must be at least 16 years of age.
- An OV-Begeleiderskaart (public transport companion card) is required for travel within the Netherlands.
- There is no special fare for passengers with a visual impairment or their companions; they travel at the regular fare.
- Service dogs, assistance dogs and guide dogs travel free of charge. A free ticket for a service dog can be requested up to 48 hours before departure.
Travelling with a wheelchair or mobility scooter
Wheelchair
- There are 4 wheelchair spaces available on the train.
- Maximum dimensions: max. 120 cm long max. 70 cm wide
- Maximum total weight (wheelchair, passenger and luggage): 300 kg.
- The spaces are located in carriages 3 and 14 (Eurostar Plus/Premier) or, on older trains, in carriages 9 and 10.
- You can take a collapsible wheelchair on board free of charge as luggage. You will then travel in a regular seat.
Mobility scooter
- Mobility scooters are permitted under the same dimensions as wheelchairs: max. 120 cm long max. 70 cm wide
- Only battery-powered or electric mobility scooters are permitted; fuel engines are prohibited.
- Mobility scooters must be placed in a wheelchair space.
- Passengers must register their mobility scooter in advance with EuroDespatch: +44 344 822 5822 (daily 08.00–22.00 hrs).
Mobility aids and medical supplies
- Medical devices such as insulin syringes, large quantities of medication, and small oxygen cylinders (maximum 1 per train) are permitted with a valid doctor's certificate..
Luggage regulations for mobility aids:
- Mobility scooters or wheelchairs are transported in special areas or in the wheelchair space.
- Other aids must comply with the regular baggage regulations (Eurostar to Londen – Luggage).
Assistance and bookings
Travel assistance
- You can request assistance with boarding and disembarking with NS Travel Assistance.
- Applications can be made up to 24 hours before departure.
Extra services at Amsterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Centraal (trail):
- Luggage assistance: assistance with transporting up to two pieces of luggage (max. 15 kg each).
- Station wheelchair for passengers who have booked a seat but have difficulty walking.
- These services must be requested at least 24 hours in advance by calling 030 – 235 78 22.
Assistance is intended for transport from the station entrance to the train or to the next transport option (train/tram/bus/taxi). When departing for London, you will be escorted to the UK terminal at Amsterdam or the Eurostar terminal at Rotterdam. Eurostar staff will take over from there.

Bringing pets on board
Since the United Kingdom is no longer part of the European Union, stricter customs rules apply, meaning there is no longer free movement of animals to and from London. Only registered guide and assistance dogs are permitted. These animals can travel on Eurostar free of charge. A muzzle is not required. When arriving in or departing from the United Kingdom, you must be able to present the necessary documentation. Therefore, please ensure that you have this with you.
A maximum of four passengers with assistance dogs are permitted to travel by train. Register your dog with Eurostar at least 24 hours before departure to receive a free ticket.
Conditions
Your dog must have undergone training with an organisation that is recognised by either the International Guide Dog Federation, Assistance Dogs Europe, Assistance Dogs International or Assistance Dogs GB.
IIf your dog was trained by an organisation not on this list, Eurostar will ask you to complete an application form before your booking can be confirmed. This form must be submitted at least 24 hours before departure.
During the journey, you must be able to show a valid pet passport containing:
- Your dog's microchip or tattoo details
- Proof of compulsory vaccinations (such as rabies)
- A copy of the confirmation email or Eurostar file number showing that your dog has been registered
Eurostar advises you to arrive at the station at least 60 minutes before departure. Your documents will be checked and you will receive further instructions at the Eurostar Assist meeting point, located near the ticket gates.
Report guide and assistance dogs

- Eurostar Customer Care will reserve a seat for your assistance dog next to you.
Catering
For every class, Eurostar has its own catering offer:
- In the Eurostar Premier class you can enjoy a menu of top-quality, created in collaboration with well-known star chef Raymond Blanc. The ingredients of the meal are sustainably grown seasonal products. Breakfast is served in the trains that depart before 11.00 hrs. That means croissants, sandwiches and pastry and a choice between a warm breakfast or cold meats, yoghurt and fruit. Warm or cold drinks are served at your seat. You can enjoy as much Lavazza coffee as you like. Lunch and dinner are three course meals; you can choose between a warm of cold main meal. In the afternoon trains from London you can enjoy afternoon tea and to London you will get a café gourmand, with different cakes en warm and cold dishes. There is a large selection of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages that are served at your seat. And for those who have something to celebrate: there is, of course, champagne!
- Eurostar Plus: You can get a delicious, light meal served at your seat, adjusted to the time of day. Breakfast is served before 11 hrs: croissants, sandwiches, pastry, yoghurt, fruit juice, tea or coffee with which to start your day off well. The rest of the day you can choose between two main meals plus a dessert with soft drinks, wine or beer plus tea or coffee. For children, you can choose a kid’s meal. Children’s and vegetarian menus can be ordered up to 24 hrs ahead.
- When travelling in Eurostar Standard, you can purchase warm drinks, soft drinks, snacks, meals and a sweet snack at Café Métropole, our bar carriage. You are permitted to bring your own food and drinks on board.
- Children menus can be ordered up to 24 hours ahead. For special dietary needs like gluten free, diabetic etc you must order at least 48 hours ahead.
