Lille is home to beautiful historical architecture of the 15th, 17th and 18th centuries, such as the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de la Treille, the Citadel and Port de Paris. Since the 1980s, Lille has also been home to an ultra-modern district: Euralille. The district is full of futuristic buildings designed by, among others, the Dutch Rem Koolhaas.
