How do you travel to Bruges by train?
It’s easy to travel from the Netherlands to Bruges by train. You start at your local station and travel via Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Breda with an international train to Antwerp or Brussels South (Midi). You can choose to travel with Eurostar, Eurocity Direct or EuroCity. In Antwerp or Brussels, you change trains and take a Belgian domestic train to Bruges. This train takes about one hour to reach the city centre.

Is there a direct train to Bruges?
No, there is no direct international train from the Netherlands to Bruges. You travel with a transfer in Antwerp or Brussels South, depending on the train you take. From there, several trains per hour go to Bruges.
Transfers in Antwerp or Brussels South/Midi
You cannot travel directly to Bruges by train. Are you coming from Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Breda? Then you only need to change trains once. With Eurostar you will then travel to Antwerp and with Eurocity Direct and EuroCity to Brussels-Midi. In Brussels, change to a regular train to Bruges. Tickets for Bruges with EuroCity from Rotterdam can also be bought at the ticket machine at the station.

You can book your tickets for Eurocity Direct and EuroCity as early as 180 days in advance. You can book the advantageous Saver fare, availability is limited.

- Travelling in the evening is often cheaper.
- For a weekend getaway, travel Sat-Sun-Mon instead of Fri-Sat-Sun.
