Checking-in in London works just as it does in the Netherlands. You must arrive at London St. Pancras station with plenty of time for passport control. The gates will close 30 minutes before departure and you will no longer be able to check in. From London to the Netherlands there are also direct connections so you will not have to change trains. Due to the hour time difference, the way back seems to take a bit longer.
You can buy tickets online to London six months in advance. A return ticket costs € 88 from Amsterdam or Rotterdam. Book from a station near you for the best price. You select the direct train for €55 when booking. If you have selected the direct train for the return journey for €44, you will see when checking the journey that the return ticket costs only €88.
