From Amsterdam Centraal, there is a direct Intercity Berlin to the German capital. If you are departing from another station in the Netherlands, it may be quicker if you travel with ICE International. You will see the best connections in our bookings module.
With ICE via Duisburg to Berlin
If, for example, you are travelling from Utrecht to Berlin you can choose between two connections. You can travel via Amersfoort and catch an Intercity Berlin from there. Alternatively, you can take ICE International to Duisburg and take the direct ICE to Berlin Hbf. Both routes have about the same travel time. Prices may differ, though. The starting price from Utrecht with Intercity Berlin is € 38.For ICE, it is a bit more, depending on when you book and travel. For both connections, it is cheaper when you book early.
Advantages ICE International
ICE International travels at 300 km per hour on many routes. The train has comfortable seats, large luggage racks, areas for families with children and quiet compartments. Like Intercity Berlin, ICE also has an on-board restaurant. In 1st class, you have wide seats and plenty of space for your luggage. If you book 1st class, the seat reservation is included in the price.
