Destinations with the best urban beaches - our tips

Paris Plage

Swimming in the Seine? It stirred up some debate, but starting this summer it's allowed at a few specially designated spots. During Paris Plages, the banks of the Seine transform into elegant urban beaches. With deckchairs, parasols and palm trees, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a summery Paris and cool off.

Summer beach Antwerp

This summer, the Zomerbar in Antwerp is open. Here, you can enjoy cocktails in the sun, good food and lounging in a hammock. Besides live music there is also plenty for children to do at this location on the Sloepenweg.

London City Beach

London may not have a real beach, but the River Thames runs right through the city! There are many places to relax on the quay. If you feel like having sand under your feet, go to Fulham Beach: a beach club right on the Thames.

Berlins Spree

As soon as the warm weather arrives, you can settle down on a beach bed at one of the many city beaches along the Spree. The most famous is Badeschiff, a floating swimming pool in the Spree.

Copenhagen Brygge

On warm days in Copenhagen, swim in the middle of the city at the 'Havnebadet Islands Brygge'. With the city skyline in the background!

Flussbaden in Zurich

In the centre of Zurich, on the Limmat river, you will find the Oberer and Unterer Letten pools, where you can take a dip in the fresh water.
