London is the city to celebrate the turn of the new year! There is a huge fireworks display near the London Eye and Big Ben. Because this fireworks show is popular, you will have to buy a ticket in advance. You can also choose to look from afar and enjoy the fireworks, for example, from the Vauxhall-Bridge or Lambeth-Bridge. You can travel for free with the underground between 23:45 hrs on 31 December and 04:30 hrs on 1 January.

Or choose to celebrate New Year's Eve from the Thames. Various boat trips are offered, often including a luxury dinner, a DJ and/or unlimited drinks. You have to make a reservation for this.

On New Year's Day you don't need to be bored, because there's a New Year's Day Parade! Here you can enjoy the performances and decorations of more than 10,000 participants. This parade starts at noon from Piccadilly and then continues along Piccadilly Circus, Lower Regent Street, Waterloo Place, Pall Mall, Cockspur Street, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall and Parliament Street.
