When are the Christmas markets in Vienna?
Vienna’s Christmas market season runs from early November 2026 to early January 2027. The exact dates vary by location. Both the Christmas market at Schönbrunn Palace and the Winter Market at the Giant Ferris Wheel in the Prater are open until 6 January 2027.

1. Rathausplatz Christkindlmarkt
This market is one of the largest and most popular in Vienna. It is located in front of the City Hall (Rathaus) and has many stalls with handmade gifts, Christmas decorations, and delicious food. The festive lights and the large Christmas tree make it a magical place.

2. Schönbrunn Palace

Do you want to visit a Christmas market after 12 December? Then, in some cases, you will have to be a little patient when buying train tickets.
