The most popular ski resorts Germany are located in the Sauerland region, including Winterberg and Willingen. These resorts may be smaller and lower in altitude than those in the Alps, but they offer plenty of fun for families, beginners and short winter getaways.

If you prefer to head further south, you’ll find larger and more challenging ski resorts Germany. Think of Feldberg in the Black Forest with around 50 kilometres of slopes, or Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen near the Austrian border. South of Munich, the Lenggries ski area offers about 35 kilometres of slopes and can easily be combined with a city trip.

Feldberg is the best-known and highest-altitude ski resort in the Black Forest. The ski resort offers around 30 kilometres of slopes, ranging from wide, gentle descents to the challenging black World Cup run, making it suitable for all levels.
