Ski areas in Germany
The most famous German winter sports areas are located in the Sauerland, about 5 hours from Amsterdam. The areas of Winterberg and Willingen may be a little smaller and less high compared to the areas in the Alps, but offer enough fun for a weekend in the snow
Skiing holiday by train
The more serious ski resorts are all located in the south of Germany. Often these winter sports destinations are easily reached by switching trains 2 or 3 times. In most cases, you will travel with a comfortable night train, ICE International or a regional German train.
How about Feldberg in the Black Forest: a nice ski area with about 50 km of slopes? Or the areas of Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, near the Austrian border? South of Munich, you'll find the Lenngries area with about 35 km of slopes. It’s fun to combine with a visit to the city of Munich.
