Hamburg

Hamburg is a great destination for a city break with an industrial edge. Explore the historic warehouses of the Speicherstadt, soak up the atmosphere around the harbour and browse the city’s shops and markets. The impressive Rathaus and lively Reeperbahn are also well worth a visit.

Bremen

Bremen will surprise you with its historic streets and lively squares. Stroll along the distinctive Böttcherstraße and discover the small houses, shops and restaurants of the charming Schnoor district. Looking for a break from the bustle? Munich

Direct travel during the period

More direct trains to Munich

You can travel directly to Munich at least once a day throughout the year. From 10 July to 15 October 2027, there will be 6 direct trains a day.

Munich is famous for Oktoberfest and its rich beer culture, but the city has much more to offer. Explore the city centre around Marienplatz, admire the historic Altes Rathaus and visit one of the many museums. During the festive season, the Christkindlmarkt on Marienplatz adds even more atmosphere.

Münster

Münster is known as a cycling city and is a wonderful place to explore on two wheels. Cycle through the historic city centre and along the car-free Promenade that circles it. Extra special in 2027 is the ten-yearly Skulptur Projekte Münster, an international exhibition of contemporary art in public spaces. Beyond the city, you’ll also find plenty of cycling routes through the green Münsterland region.

Berlin

Travel to Germany by train

Your city break starts the moment you board the train. Step aboard in the Netherlands and travel comfortably towards Germany. Please note that work will be taking place on the German rail network at various locations in 2026 and 2027. As a result, international trains may temporarily operate differently and direct connections will vary depending on the travel period.
