Practical information

Guaranteed seat

GoVolta guarantees every passenger a seat. Without seat selection, GoVolta automatically assigns an available seat. Sitting together is not guaranteed in that case. Would you like to sit together or face forward? Book a seat selection or XL Duo Seat when purchasing your ticket. Seat changes on board are not possible. Travelling with a minor? The minor will always be seated next to at least one parent or guardian from the booking.

Luggage

Two items of hand luggage are always included:

  • one item of up to 55 × 40 × 25 cm and
  • one smaller item of up to 30 × 20 × 15 cm.

Would you like to bring a large suitcase? You can add this when booking your ticket.

Travelling with impaired mobility

GoVolta trains have a high step with several stairs and are not equipped with dedicated wheelchair spaces or adapted toilets. If you are able to manage a few steps independently or with a little help and can take a seat in a standard chair, you can in most cases travel with GoVolta. A foldable, manual wheelchair may be brought on board but must be folded during the journey. Travelling while seated in your own wheelchair is unfortunately not possible. If you need more assistance boarding or during the journey, you are advised to travel with a companion.

Travelling with an assistance dog

Assistance dogs are welcome on board. Please be aware that the train runs non-stop between destinations, so there is no opportunity to let your dog out during the journey.

Terminal stations

GoVolta trains travel to Berlin Gesundbrunnen (until 11 June 2026) and Berlin Spandau from that date. To Hamburg, the train terminates at Hamburg Harburg. From these stations, you can reach the city centre by S-Bahn.

Bicycles

It is not possible to bring standard bicycles on board.

Pets are not permitted on board.
