Great deals with your NS subscription

Including discount on international trips

Book with discount

Do you have an NS subscription? For example a Dal Vrij or Altijd Voordeel? Then you can also get a discount on your international trip..

When do you get a discount?

  • You will get a discount on the domestic part of your journey from your departure station to the station where the international train departs from. Do you live in the Alkmaar area and are you booking a trip to Paris? Fill in Alkmaar Station as your departure station instead of Amsterdam Central Station.
  • In many cases, you will receive a discount when booking a Eurocity Direct and EuroCity.

How do you get a discount

  • On the homepage of the booking module, fill in a nearby station in the ‘from’ field. After filling in your arrival station, you will get the option ‘discount and loyalty card’. When you click on this, you can select your discount card per country.

  • If you arrive in the booking module from another page or from ns.nl, you can scroll up, click the pencil icon in the top right corner, and still select your discount card.

Check

To check if your discount card has been applied, click on ‘Show details’ in the booking module in the lower right corner of the selected travel option.

Tip: Are you travelling with children or a lot of luggage and is the time to change trains in the Netherlands short? Then take an earlier NS train to the station from where your international train departs. This will give you plenty of time to make the switch.
