Change train tickets flexibly

In these uncertain times, we think it is important that you can book your train journey without worrying, even those planned for further into the future. That is why, together with our partners, we have temporarily relaxed the change conditions for many fares. This will allow you to decide shortly before your travel date whether you still feel comfortable travelling or whether you would prefer to postpone it free of charge. In the event that your new ticket is more expensive, the additional cost of this ticket will be at your own expense.

In the table below you can see the different conditions per carrier:

Carrier Flexible booking conditions Fares Booking dates
Thalys Changing tickets is free for the Mid-flex fare up to and including the time of departure Mid-flex 23-6-2020 thru 31-12-2020
Eurostar Changing tickets is free up to 14 days before departure All 1-7-2020 thru 31-12-2020
ICE International/ Intercity Berlin Changing tickets is free for the Mid-flex fare (Sparpreis Europa) up to 1 day before departure Mid-flex (Sparpreis Europa) 30-6-2020 thru 31-12-2020

So, if you want more flexibility in the near future, we recommend that you buy train tickets with a minimum Mid-Flex fare. Please note: The starting dates for the eased change conditions vary depending on the train carrier. See booking dates in the table above.
