As of autumn 2020, Eurostar will take you directly from Amsterdam and Rotterdam to the English capital. Soon, Eurostar will take you from Amsterdam to London St Pancras International in 4h10m, without having to change trains. From Rotterdam the travel time is only 3h29m.
Yesterday in Brussels, the Netherlands, France, Belgium and the United Kingdom signed the treaties needed to make a faster train connection to London possible. The passport and security check can now be carried out in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
"Soon you will travel comfortably, easily and therefore quickly by train from Amsterdam to London in just over four hours. This makes the train to London a truly sustainable and fully-fledged alternative to flying", says State Secretary Stientje Van Veldhoven.
The first direct Eurostar between Amsterdam and London had been planned for the end of April. However, the corona crisis threw a spanner in the works.
