What's your favourite travel destination?

From the age of 19, I've travelled to all corners of the globe. I feel enormously privileged in this. When I was young, my favourite destinations were the US and Australia. Nowadays, I like to take four-day city trips in Europe. For longer holidays, Italy and South Africa are my top destinations. Because of the ambiance, the hospitality, the delicious food, the wines and the nature. Those countries never bore me. I hope to spend a lot of time there when I’m old.

What's the best book you've read?

I'd pick one of my favourite sports biographies. The book ‘Open' by Andre Agassi. It's a well-written and honest book. Wonderful match reports interspersed with personal events and reflections. The complex life of a struggling athlete.

What can we wake you up for in the middle of the night?

Well, I'd rather not be woken up. I really value my eight-to-nine hours of sleep a night and like waking up without an alarm clock. I prefer to stay up for another 15 minutes and read the news of the day on Blendle.

What do you like most about your work?

The fact that this professional team forms an independent unit within NS International. That makes my work extremely varied and gives me a lot of freedom to pursue activities in our beautiful travel sector. The train is hipper now than ever before, so that also feels good.

What energises you?

Being amongst people, having good conversations, discovering new hotels and restaurants, a day at the spa. My work also energises me. And travelling, of course. I feel great when I'm sitting on a terrace with a view of the sea or mountains. In and amongst people, with facilities and something tasty within reach and at the same time absorbing the surrounding sights and sounds.
